I have the old and new model and I prefer the old one. The new one you sink in to much making my neck not feel straight.

Great for back sleeper. Side sleeper — this offers better support than others I’ve tried, but could use extra support. They have definitely reduced the weight and support compared to one I purchased a few years ago — I still have that older one. Wish they didn’t change it.

Comfortable but has a terrible off gassing smell for weeks after you open the package. Gave me a headache just laying next to it as this was for my husband. He likes it though and sleeps better.

Matter of personal feel, but I didn’t find the pillow to be comfortable, so I returned for a refund.

I have the Symphony pillow and loved it so much that I wanted to get one for my boyfriend. I ordered this pillow and it shipped very fast and also came in original packaging. However, the color and feel is a bit different than the Symphony pillow I bought last year from Brookstone. The pillow was a darker tan and did not feel as dense as my pillow. It also had a rather weird smell. My boyfriend says he loves it and Im glad that he is happy. I am just confused as to why my pillow and this one seem different.

Smaller than I expected..

I bought this pillow thinking it would do wonders for me since I have an insufferably sensitive head. It was WAY too hard. I tried to break it in, and it’s now the 2nd year I have had it, and it’s still as hard as ever.
Recently though, I made a purchase at a mattress store and my mattress dealer had a couple of different tempurpedic pillows. I told him about my pillow issues and he told me that I had made a mistake and the reason for my neck pain was because the pillow was way too big for me! (I layed down so he could observe) He recommended one half the thinness, and told me that that I shouldn’t’ get a pillow just because it’s brand name. Pillows are like mattresses, you have to try them out and see if it’s for you too!
Anyway, I have a different pillow now. But I use this one for a seat support or a back support when I’m sitting up on my bed. It’s great for that!

Thought this was going to be the end of my neck pain & headaches. Not so. I slept okay on it a few nights, my husband didn’t even get that many days. It is also a very heavy pillow. I tend to move mine around at night, I think I gained some muscle flopping it around 😀 I still think it’s a good pillow, just not what either of us needed.

I had to return it because it was too hard and high for me. Instead of easing my pain, it made my neck hurt even worse.

Not sure this product works for us. After sleeping on it for 3 weeks, I’ve found it does not support my head & neck. I keep having to re-adjust it during the night. The pillow is also harder than I thought it would be. I would not purchase these again. Did not meet my needs.

Nice, dense memory foam maybe a bit on the hard side. I couldn’t figure out how to get the symphony music to play, though, which sucks because a pillow that plays music while you sleep is a great idea.

I bought this pillow for my husband.
We both tried it out and it seems a little bit to tall for our comfort.
It takes a while for your neck to sink in to I find my neck a bit sore the next morning.
I often times wake up with my husband throwing the pillow on the floor or him “falling” off the pillow and sleeping next to it.

I saw this at COSTCO few weeks ago and scanned bar code to check the price on Amazon. As you see, almost $100 at Amazon.com. I got pair from COSTCO. Still try to use to it but please check the COSTCO if you want to buy this product.

I have noticed that the quality is not as it once was for this type of pillow. Still, it is very good for neck and head support if you are a side sleeper.

Supports your head well, unlike other pillows I’ve tried. Works best, though I think for laying on your side, not so much for sleeping on the back.

It is a comfortable pillow. It conforms to your contour but retains that shape so if you move the shape doesn’t change quickly.

I like that this pillow doesnt get mushed down when you sleep. It is a little hard to get used to but has helped a lot with my neck pain. I am a side sleeper and used to wake up with neck pain.

Let’s begin with some Words of Wisdom: Unless you know what pillow you want, buy from Bed Bath and Beyond. They are one of the few retailers that accepts returns of the Tempurpedic pillows (just don’t open the plastic wrap!) and you can use a 20% off coupon! Yay!
When I purchased my Cloud mattress, I received two symphony pillows for free with the cotton lining and cover– not the new polyester covers/lining. I was told by a sales woman that nothing has changed about the pillows themselves over than the lining and cover.
The Symphony pillows were firm at first, but they break in after about a week, and they’ve held up great for the last three years. But there is ONE problem: I get annoyed at the contoured sides that are made for different sleep positions. You have to flip the pillow if you are moving from your back to your side to be comfortable and if you don’t– ouch! My neck! Otherwise, it’s an AMAZING pillow. It wouldn’t be so big of a deal for me if I woke up, but I don’t. I wake up when my neck starts to hurt. (insert sad face now). It’s also not the best for a stomach sleeper.
My Goal: find a pillow that I could use on my stomach, side AND back (I know lofty goals) that would give me the support that I needed without having to flip it over multiple times a night. (For reference, I’m a small woman– just over 5 ft and I have a small frame)
Now let’s get to the Pillow Talk:
Latex: soft and all sorts of springy with minimal to moderate support. I found that no latex pillow I’ve used gives me enough support. This is my preference, of course. I prefer memory foam. I don’t like springy.
After that latex fiasco, I went back to good ole tempur-pedic.
My old standby– the Symphony: medium firmness, very little spring. Great for side sleepers, but if you switch positions a lot– this pillow can get annoying because you have to keep flipping it. Also, it’s not great for stomach sleepers. If you are a side sleeper or a back sleeper– you won’t be sorry that you got this pillow. This actually reminds me the most of the Cloud mattress because it has a little bit of softness initially, but then it forms to your body just like the mattress does. It’s very comfy with lots of support.
Cloud: very soft, yet supportive, but springy. However, the “springy-ness” is a problem for me because the foam wants to rebound back into it’s natural form. That makes my head tilt at an angle instead of lay flat which hurts my neck. This pillow looks lofty, but it has a lot of give when you put your head on it. It turns out to be about the same height as my symphony so I know it’s not the height that’s a problem– I think it’s the amount of recoil in this pillow which is an issue. It is incredibly soft and it wanted so badly for it to be MY pillow, but it wasn’t. It is, however, very moldable and this pillow can work for stomach sleepers if you’re willing to put half the pillow under your chest. Not ideal, but it can work because it’s so pliable.
Curve: firmest of the bunch, but a bit thinner than the Symphony and the Cloud. It is better if you’re an “every position” sleeper including a stomach sleeper. The first night– it’s a bit hard, but the pillow gets softer with use. I’m not talking like it’s so soft that you feel like your head is on a marshmallow (if that’s your goal– get the cloud), but if you’ve laid on tempurpedic mattresses, then you know what I mean: it molds to you and it becomes soft. I also kind of like the curve in the shape because it’s actually difficult to fall off the pillow. If you get the curve, then you should definitely get a Queen size because the standards are freakishly small.
I thought about getting the traditional pillow, but it really seemed to mushy when I was playing with it at the store. If you can, I really recommend making a trip out to a store where you can at least play around with these pillows before you make that $100+ decision.
Also, I live in Florida and I’ve never felt “hot” using a memory foam pillow. If that’s a concern– then I don’t think any of these pillows will be a problem. AND the smell will go away in a couple of days. 😉

First the (slightly) negative:
1) The pillow does have a strong “chemical” smell for the first week or so. It is not altogether unpleasant and will not cause any headaches or anything, but its there.
2) The pillow is a bit heavier and harder than most pillows. This is actually the support part, but it does take a few nights to get used to.
The good:
1) The pillow holds up well and doesnt loose its shape or supportiveness.
2) greatly helped out my neck and back problems.
3) seems like it will last a long time.
4) The pillow comes with a removable snug-fitting pillowcase that is machine-washable. I like this a lot as you can also put your standard pillowcase over the top so as to add extra protection and keep your new SymphonyPillow clean and dust/allergy free.

This pillow is so comfortable and fantastic! I only wish it were SLIGHTLY thinner…it lifts my neck a bit more than I’d like – I’m a small woman and I’m 5’3 – maybe it is better if you are larger/taller, I’m not sure. I’d say about 1″-2″ less of height/vertical thickness and it would be the best pillow ever made.
Also there’s no smell – I don’t know what people are talking about there.

Not bad for the expense

So far she likes it and her husband napped on it and liked it as well. If I get more feedback, I’ll add it to my review.

My experience with another Tempur-pedic pillow was so good that I wanted my guests to have the same comfort. This has worked out very well.

I was to the point of not being able to move my head well while driving and every day shoulder neck and of headaches! I have tried many expensive pillows and none of them worked. Very pleased with this latest version of my favorite pillow. The design and materials have been updated and the pillow is slightly smaller but it still delivers the support for a comfortable night’s sleep. FYI, I’ve found the pillow lasts approximately 3 years before it needs to be replaced. This is the third pillow I’ve purchased in the last 6 years.

The TEMPUR-Symphony Pillow is a very comfortable pillow. I have a Tempur-Pedic mattress and this is an excellent compliment to it. The pillow is not too hard nor is it too soft, so my neck does not hurt in the morning. I also do not find it hot, even in Arizona.

I bought this pillow quite a ways back it is the best pillow for me comfort wise. I sleep on my back. Unfortunately my wife also loves the pillow so we’ve fought over it for a while. This is the second one I bought for my wife. It is firm but not to hard. It has a slope that is just the right angle for the neck. I used to use two pillows and would have trouble falling asleep (I now know) directly because of the pillow situation. Massive improvement in sleep experience since we’ve got this pillow.

I tried about seven different pillows before a friend recommended this one. I sleep like a dream! Firm but cushy and supportive. I don’t know how they do it.

Stayed over night at my daughter’s house and she had this. Loved it so much I got one for myself. My hubby kept taking mine so I got him one. When my son came to visit, he loved the comfort too so I got him one. Firm and molds to your head and neck. Would buy again.

This was the second pillow I purchased. They are very comfortable and I would highly recommend. I have one son that prefers “regular” pillows, but the rest of the family have the Tempur pillow.

Its the perfect firmness, my neck doesn’t hurt anymore.

I was so reluctant to buy this since it cannot be returned. I needed a replacement for the orthopedic pillow I used to get at Brrokstone. I had been replacing it every 3 – 4 years. It had an indentation on one side so that your neck fit into it or you could turn it over and have a bump for your neck. I wasn’t sure that I wanted one like that again so I tried this one. I am very finicky about my pillow. I am a side sleeper and this pillow is wonderful. I did not have to break it in at all, it was great from night one. It is firm yet molds to your head.

This pillow is the best thing I ever bought. It took some getting used to because it a bit firm but now I’m addicted and take it everywhere I go. I wake up refreshed with no neck pain like I used to have with my old traditional pillow. No stuff neck. No twisting and turning at night. Highly recommend an totally worth it.

When we first got this pillow I hated it! I’m used to the memory foam pillows that have a little bit more give. I need a pillow that supports my neck better so that’s why I went with this. It took about a week of sleeping on it but now I love them! It supports my neck very well and even though there was a little bit of a smell that the beginning it is all gone now. I definitely recommend this pillow if you want a little bit more neck support.

I purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress about three years ago but put off buying a Tempur-Pedic pillow until a few weeks ago. Why did I wait! I love this pillow! It extends the mattress comfort to my head and neck. I read a review that complained about the smell. This is normal (my mattress smelled at first too), and it goes away. if you want a comfortable pillow, this is it!

Pillow feels WONDERFUL! It may just be a little to thick for my preference. However, my husband has wide shoulders and sleeps on his side often. It’s perfect for him.

I bought my first Symphony pillow directly from Tempur-Pedic about 4 years ago. I liked it so much I went back and bought a second one about a year later.
These pillows are fantastic regardless of whether you sleep on your back or on your side/stomach (as I do). They are supportive, hold their shape, and a very comfortable to sleep on. I particularly like this model because it is raised on one side for back sleepers and flat on the other side for side/stomach sleepers. I never wake up with a crick in my neck or sore neck/back.
I agree with some of the other reviewers, the odor initially is a bit overwhelming but it does disappear after about 5-7 days; it’s something in the manufacturing process of these types of pillows/mattresses and you just have to let them air out on their own. The pillows are also slightly stiffer initially and they do soften up a bit over time but not enough to loose their shape or compromise their supportive nature.
I’ve just purchased a new memory foam mattress (it wasn’t a Tempur-Pedic, I couldn’t afford one of those but I am getting ready to order two more Symphony Pillows for the new bed because they are the best pillows that I have ever owned. Yes, they are a little on the expensive side but as the old saying goes, “you get what you pay for” and these pillows are well worth the few extra dollars. You won’t need to replace these pillows for a good 10-15 years versus some others that you might buy online or in a department store.

I have been using this pillow for 3 years now and would never get rid of it. I love it! I’m a side sleeper and this pillow has really helped relieve pressure on my shoulders when sleeping. I no longer wake up with stiff and sore shoulders. It initially felt much more firm than a normal pillow, but it is still very soft and comfortable. With normal pillows I would always have my head hanging off one side of the pillow to avoid the pillow restricting my breathing, but because this is more firm I’m able to rest my head in the center of the pillow which is something I never did before. As a result I have a much more comfortable sleep and less neck and shoulder strain. I highly recommend this pillow.

I bought my first Symphony pillow many years ago and loved it. I started noticing, after all these years, it did not feel the same so I knew I needed a new pillow. I wasted money on several pillows, none of which were comfortable. I wasn’t sleeping good. I talked to my husband, who also said his pillow was causing him aggravation at night. I checked on Amazon but I wanted to see the actual Tempurpedic pillows before I made up my mind. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond with my 20% coupon. They only had the standard/queen size and only one at that. I bought it. My husband bought the Tempur-Cloud Premium Soft. We love our pillows. I could tell a big difference in my new pillow. The support and comfort were back. This pillow is amazing. No other pillow supports the head at the perfect level as this one does. The standard/queen seems to feel just fine. If they had the King, I probably would have bought the King. I am not a bit unhappy with the feel of the pillow I got though. This pillow did not have a smell when I opened it. Neither did my husbands. They were fine. These pillows are expensive…but last for years with care. We couldn’t be happier with our purchases.

I started waking up every day with a very painful stiff neck. I was even having trouble driving – looking over my left shoulder was near impossible. Paying for massages twice a month, and suffering terribly in between. I did some research and decided to try the Symphony pillow. I bought it at my local Relax the Back because I wanted to see the pillow first-hand (price was the same). It took about 5 days or so to feel better, but I DO feel better. In fact, now that I think of it, I can’t remember when I last woke up with pain in my neck – it was probably that first week. Lots of complaints in the reviews about the smell and how hard or big the pillow is. My pillow had no smell. And while the pillow is both harder and bigger than anything I’m used to, it simply doesn’t matter – the pain is gone. If you are having neck pain, it is money very well spent.

I’ve been extremely happy with this pillow since receiving it as a gift. We have two in my house and even after a year the first purchased one is great! It does take a few days to air out and smell better, but that goes away relatively soon.

Ive used 2 of these for 8years and they are still in brand new condition. Try to get another pillow to last that long. Worth every penny!

My wife makes fun of me because she calls me a memory foam pillow geek. I’d be buying a new memory like once a month, and returning, never finding the perfect one but willing to try almost all types and varieties. I haven’t returned them all and still have a collection of about ten of them.
However, I don’t need to buy any now that I have my Tempur Symphony pillow. It has two sides that you can use, and it has literally cured me of my neck pain. I had been seeing a chiropractor like once a month for an adjustment, but don’t need to now. It’s not the softest pillow, so if you need something soft, this is not the right pillow for you. It’s not too firm, but it’s a firmness that has worked excellent for me. I used to wake up in neck pain a few times a week and would get new pillows and nothing ever worked. Until now. It doesn’t really sleep hot either. I don’t notice a big difference compared to a gel pillow so this isn’t something I’d be too worried about when looking at this pillow.

Used to have neck and shoulder crinks all the time. Not since we got these pillows. Ordered 2 more for my parents. Highly recommended.

I purchased pillow 2 years ago and I really like it. Unlike other pillows that go flat, this pillow has kept it’s shape all this time. The pillow is rather heavy, so if you get into pillow fights, this pillow will knock your opponent to their feet.
I like the pillow so much, I just purchased their cloud mattress with the advanced base that has a wireless remote.
If you are looking for a good pillow that will last for years, this is the pillow for you.

I highly recommend this pillow if you have trouble sleeping or want more comfort. The memory foam in this pillow it’s amazing It’ll reduce pressure in your neck and head. Another great thing about it is that the cover is removable and you can always take out to wash it. Overall it’s a soft pillow and won’t change shapes I really recommend it for anyone.

Sleep much better with this pillow

This pillow is amazing! It is firm and supportive without being hard. It doesn’t collapse like the other generic memory foam pillows and go flat. It isn’t hot like so many other foam products leaving you a sweaty mess in the morning. I really like that it has two distinctive sides for back sleeping and side sleeping. I am usually a side sleeper but after my c-section I have been forced to be a back sleeper during my recovery and this pillow has been a sanity saver! Expensive but worth every penny!

Typical Tempur high quality. Not cheap, but helps to get a good nights sleep.

Great pillow. It has more of a slope on one side than the other. I make sure the steeper slope is on the bottom to accommodate my shoulder since I sleep on my shoulder (can’t break the habit). Since I’ve had this pillow, I haven’t once had a sore neck or shoulder and I wake up much less in the middle of the night with nerve pain. It’s expensive, and is a bit more solid / heavy than most people seem to prefer. If at all possible, I recommend stopping in a Vencasa store and see if you can see/feel one in person.

I Love this pillow. It has been my favorite pillow since I purchased it in January 2005. I even take this pillow camping with me. I simply couldn’t imagine using any other pillow. I do travel internationally and miss my Tempur pillow when I do. I am not sure when they loose shape but I know that mine has kept it’s shape for 6 years now. It doesn’t smell and never has- I sleep great. My body alignment seem to be perfect with this pillow.

I love this pillow. I just got it for Christmas and it’s the best pillow out there. Perfect to sleep on. Your head just sinks into it. Not too stiff or too soft but just right!!! It cushions your head just so and you wake up with no neck pain at all!!! Wouldn’t trade this pillow for any other one. Absolutely love it!!! 🙂

I actually own all of tempur pillows and I also own the cloud mattress. First, let me address the common complaints about these products, then I will address the superiority of these products as well as give justification for the costs of the tempur items.
1)All of their products arrive with a distinct and strong plastic smell to them- this is an accurate statement & you have two choices with this: a) Do not put a separate sheet or pillow case on the product, just use the sheet or pillow cover that it comes with for the first week. if you do it this way, it helps break the product in (makes it softer) and lets the product breathe. The smell will go away after 7 days, I timed it. This timetable is universal for all of their products. b) Put a separate pillow case or sheet on the product and literally wait months for the smell to go away.
2)The mattresses and pillows are too firm- this is a correct statement for the first few nights. When I first laid on the pillows (with the exception of the cloud pillow), it felt way too firm. I even told myself that I was stupid for ordering the two pillows I bought.
3)The tempur products trap body heat- this statement is blatantly false. Never once have I had any issue with heat on my cloud mattress or any of my pillows. I have a very high metabolism and my body cranks out a lot of heat, as a result I cannot sleep if I am too hot.
4)The tempur products do not hold their shape after a few months or years- this statement is also blatantly false. I have had my cloud mattress for almost a year now and I have had most of the pillows for over three years, let me assure you, the tempur products do not loose any shape, at all. There are no caved in portions of the mattress or in any of my pillows. They are exactly the same shape now as when I took them out of the box, and I use my pillows and mattress every night and guests use the other pillows. They will never loose shape, I realize that now.
5)Superior build quality- the mattresses and pillows are constructed to last forever, right down to the stitching. Their products are literally indestructible, not only is the quality leaps and bounds above the competition, you will notice the difference in quality and build whenever you lay on a regular mattress or pillow. Everything just feels cheap compared to tempur products. No, this effect is not psychological, it is very real and noticeable right out of the box.
6)Tempur products are very expensive, but not overpriced- you get what you pay for, if you decide to purchase a tempur product, you will pay through the nose, but you will know where that extra money went after a week of sleeping on any of their products. Trust me on this, it is well worth the money. No I am not rich, I was able to purchase the mattress and pillows over time. I spaced it out, I saved.
7)The extra money you shell out for tempur products actually saves you money in the long run. As I said before, their products last forever. If you purchase a mattress and or pillows from tempur, those will be the last you will ever have to buy. Trust me on this, that mattress and pillow are going to outlive you.
8)Out of this world comfort- as I stated earlier, when you first get the products (with the exception of the cloud pillow/mattresses- they arrive soft, no breaking in), they will feel too firm. Almost like sleeping on a wet rock or wet compact sand. Make sure you sleep with only the cover their products come with. You can put additional covers on you, but don’t put them on the mattress (between the mattress and your body) and likewise don’t put an extra pillow case on the pillows. Do this for the first week and I guarantee you the pillow/mattress will get softer and more comfortable after each night. By the 5th night, watch out, you will not want to get up in the morning. The sleep quality is nothing like I have ever experienced in my life. It literally starts to feel like you are sleeping on a cloud, you feel weightless. Once those memory cells open up from body heat and pressure after the first five nights, you will be in heaven. You will never go back to any other type of mattress ever again, be rest assured of that.

So, i get migraines very often and i was looking into getting a new pillow because mine was getting kind of lumpy and that doesn’t help migraines. I heard this pillow was good for that. It’s been 2 months and although i have also been prescribed migraine meds, i honestly believe this pillow takes a lot of the credit for me not having as many as i used to, it’s actually been a month or so since i’ve had one. Last time i did however, i was able to lay on it and not feel like i wanted to die. Which is very different from my old pillow where as i couldn’t lay down on it because it would make it worse. I highly recommend this pillow. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it in my opinion.

This pillow has relieved my recurring neck and shoulder pain. At +2k, it isn’t cheap, but I sleep well and wake up without any neck pain or discomfort. I consider it money well spent, and still much more economical than visiting doctors and getting x-rays.
It did take me some time to adjust in the beginning; my neck was already sore from previous pillows. I would start out each night with the Symphony pillow, wake up because it felt too hard, toss it aside and grab my old pillow. After about 7 to 10 days, I was sleeping beautifully all night with no pain on the
Symphony pillow. I won’t travel without it now. I just recently bought my 2nd one and am now using my old Symphony as a back-up or travel pillow.

Best pillow I ever had. I tend to toss and turn in my sleep a lot and I like that this pillow has two sides for back or side sleeping. It is very comfortable. This is my second pillow. I used the first one for years but it finally went flat. I blame this partially to letting people sit on it or against it in my office chair as well. Don’t put too much pressure long term on this pillow. It will lose its “memory”.

Once your head melts into the foam, the high level of support really helps you relax. Once you are fully relaxed, and it doesn’t take long, you just drift off. I love these things.

This pillow is awesome and offers great support. I am a strong believer in the Tempur products. Honestly, buy this pillow for everyone in your family.

The title says it all, I will definitely never go back to using regular pillows after buying one of these. It is definitely worth the money. You will not be sorry.

I was getting bad neck cricks in the morning that lasted for days. I knew it was because I would wake up sleeping funny. I bought this pillow hoping it would help keep my head at a level that would prevent cricks.
I found it too hard at first. I threw it on the floor every night and grabbed my old pillow for a month or two. I kept trying to get used to it because I spent so much money on it. Eventually I noticed it softened up and I got used to it. I’m not sure which was the major culprit for my dislike at first. Now I couldn’t survive without it. I haven’t had a crick in nearly a year.
I love how it has a little raised edge that is perfect to either tuck good and snug around your shoulders if you are on your back, or either slip your shoulders under if on your side. It seems to only work on one side. I wondered if there was a back sleeping side and a side sleeping side, but I just have a favorite side period. I love how it just seems to adjust and put your head at just the right level. I couldn’t imagine sleep without this thing. It’s just plain fabulous!

One of my best decisions thus far!

I have purchased a Tempur Sonata pillow about 3 weeks ago. After suffering severe neck and shoulder pain for the past year and experimenting with various different pillows and combinations, learnt about the Tempur Sonata.
After using the pillow for about 6 days, my neck pain improved tremendously, and I do not have any shoulder pain. from being negative at nignt to go to bed, now, I can’t wait.
Highly recommended.
