    I give this pillow 5 stars because it is so comfortable while sleeping. The only downside is the price. Would love to buy another one, but I can’t quite justify it.

    The liquid smell you put in doesn’t last a day in the bottle they send you is so small it’s not worth the price plus the pillow it’s not soft at all

    After one night’s sleep my back pain was gone, the support given is perfect. I will buy a second king size pillow for my bed and the search for a perfect pillow will be over. I highly recommend, you pay for what you get & I’m very happy with my king size dough pillow mint scented.

    I love this pillow. It’s super comfortable and gives me the support i need. I actually do feel a difference in neck and shoulder pain since i started using it.
    However, there is a strong smell to the pillow after taking it out of its pkg that took about a week or so to go away.

    Had neck pain every day when I woke up. Used a regular down pillow for years. A week with this pillow and its all gone. It’s so comfy, just the right amount of plushness — holes bigger in the middle to cradle your head. The queen is bigger than a queen pillow case though, recommend perhaps a King pillow case with this. Lavender smells great — it took a while to get that “factory” smell to fade, but after about 2 weeks its much better. LOVE this product!

    Such quick shipping. Comes in this thick plastic zippered bag, so it’s very safe in the shipping process. I ordered the travel size but will be ordered the regular size soon due to how wonderful this one is. The scent is wonderful, comfort is great (took it straight into the vehicle for a trip). If you’re looking for a very comfortable travel pillow this is the one! Highly recommend this product!! You won’t be disappointed!

  18. Travel pillow not worth the money –

    I got this pillow as a travel pillow and something to use while lounging at home. I was severely disappointed at how flat the pillow got within seconds, the absence of any peppermint aroma (I had hoped the other reviews were wrong). I have other Z pillows and have used a full size one for over 5 years. My only saving grace for my needs is I also purchased the travel gel dough pillow which is working nicely so far. But this travel Zoned Dough is crap and I will never purchase again.

  19. Great Pillow for Side or Back Sleepers –

    The Z shoulder pillow is now my go to pillow for sleeping. Yes, I have 5-6 different pillows across various technologies and I think I may have found a winner.
    I sleep on my side and back. The shoulder cut out is wonderful for either of these positions and the height is just about perfect. The chamomile smell thing is kind of neat, but it honestly wasn’t a factor in my purchase. Don’t get me wrong – it smells nice, but otherwise it doesn’t effect my overall rating of the pillow.
    The Tencel cover goes well with the Z Woven Tencel sheets I bought with this pillow.

    This pillow is fantastic! I am loving the infused activated bamboo charcoal, it really does help wick away moisture and odors (no more sweaty, gross bed head). It keeps me cool at night, and provides just the right amount of head support to maintain a neutral spine while sleeping. The small perforation along the outside of the pillow supports my neck, while the larger perforation in the center of the pillow allows my head to stay in alignment. This is a pillow I definitely plan to keep around.

    It doesn’t an over powering scent . The pillow itself is so soft . It is not too small but still small enough to fit in a backpack. My only problem is that it didnt come with the spray 🙁

    Bought this for a road trip and it’s perfect for traveling. It’s a great size and would be ideal on an airplane. The lavender smell is there, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s a super comfy pillow and I won’t look like a nerd with one of those things around my neck.

    I’m very disappointed with this pillow. It’s comfortable enough but has a strong odor. It smells like a mixture of artificial lavender & chemicals. I use only pure lavender oil and this scent doesn’t even come close.

    This is a very comfortable pillow, but on the soft side. Those who want a firmer pillow should consider a high loft pillow from the same company. I experimented with both, and since I tend to sleep on my side, I prefer the high loft pillow.

  31. I do not love memory foam or any type of synthetic pillows –

    I came across this pillow in the search for just a new pillow. Typically, I do not love memory foam or any type of synthetic pillows. I am totally a down pillow kinda person all the way. However, the product reviews were awesome, so I thought I would give it a try. I am so glad that I did. The aromatherapy seriously works with this pillow! It is also extremely soft and does not get that extreme toughness that most memory foam pillows get after a couple of hours of sleeping on them. It also does not have that terrible plastic smell. The pillow breathes really well because of the aromatherapy release which also keeps it from getting hot in the middle of the night. It has not lost its firmness at all. Absolutely an amazing product!

    I’m a side sleeper who has to hold an arm pillow as well to keep limbs from going numb. I bought this pillow a week ago, and I have not had a stiff neck since! 12/10 would buy again.
    UPDATE: I guess after 8 months I am going to have to buy again if I want to keep sleeping. This thing has gone so flat it’s causing extreme shoulder stress and pain on the side I normally sleep on.

    Pillow was EXTREMELY comfortable to sleep on, nice and squishy, yet firm. For someone that is not looking for the firmness and the exact height that this pillow has, would absolutely love it. The shoulder cut out was nice, I had a bit of relief from my hands falling asleep with this pillow. I so wanted to keep it ,but my pillow search continues. If only this was slightly high!!! So Malouf is off the table for me unfortunately, because I also LOVED the lavender scent! So comforting, it makes you know it is time to sleep. Dang it.

    Love this pillow to death! Used it at a friends house and bought it the minute I left! Allows you to use the center of the pillow and also supports your back shoulder. The smell thing is a little far fetched but the comfort is there!

    I have been using the same pillow for a while now, like a while!. So it was time to get an upgrade and I decided it might be worth it to try something new. This pillow has been great! I am a side sleeper and I feel like I have plenty of support throughout the whole night and I feel like I am not tossing and turning as much. My wife can attest to the comfort of this pillow as well. When I leave in the morning to workout by the time I come home she is over on my side of the bed sleeping with it. Overall no complaints and I believe it is worth the price.

    Great Pillow!!! I highly recommend any of the Malouf pillows, they are of great quality and do exactly what they say they do. I have tried many pillows and these sleep cool and don’t get overheated. I LOVE THIS PILLOW!

    The first night I slept on this pillow, my neck was strained. The second night, I put a lightly filled down pillow on top, and it was perfect! The gel gets pretty warm, as I have always liked a cool pillow, and the aromatherapy spray was not included as was stated in the description.

    This pillow is great. It is unique as its made out of foam and has holes in it to allow circulation. The pillow is soft but not too soft. It cradles your head in a very comfortable way. This pillow came with a small vial of spray lavender to help aid sleep. The lavender smells nice. Normal sized pillow cases fit on it. This is my new favorite pillow. It is pricey but I believe worth it.

  69. Flattens Like a Pancake –

    I loved the feel of this pillow for a couple nights. It’s a unique material, and always returned to it’s original shape, and is well ventilated. I thought this pillow was the one, but I started tossing and turning with it. I realized this pillow allows my head to sink so much that I only had about a 1/2 of pillow separating the back of my head from the bed. To my surprise, it never gave me neck aches though, which I struggle with. I am a back and side sleeper. If it was a firmer material, I think it would have worked well for me. Unfortunately, it’s just not supportive enough.

    Love this pillow I can’t live without it.never loses shape or form I like to spray it with lavender before I go to bed it helps me sleep good I would recommend the king size hi loft as this lavender pillow is so soft the low loft sinks to low

    Malouf makes a great pillow, I’ve owned several and bought this for traveling. Pillow is fantastic but it does not include spray scent bottle like advertised.

  74. The price vs. value for the pillow is well worth it. –

    The best thing about the pillow is the perfect height it provides to allow the neck and spine to align properly. The pillow also remains cool due to the vented nature of the foam. Additionally, for a foam pillow it is very lightweight, which makes it easy if you are a “pillow flipper” while still providing ample support. I have not found a negative or anything that I dislike about the pillow thus far. The only information of note is that if you have been sleeping on a taller pillow it may take you a week or so to adjust but once you do you will not regret the switch to this pillow.

    This is my second zoned dough memory pillow by malouf; my first is the charcoal. I have bad neck and bad back and I tried expensive pillows like tempur-pedic and dormeo. I got this one as a fundraiser for my son’s school and it’s for me the best one I ever had. I have less neck and back pain. It takes time to adjust to the feel and you do sink into it more than a tempur pedic but just enough to align your whole body. The smell is light but that is why you can get spray to enhance the smell as you wish. My husband is stealing my neck pillow to travel. Also, the peppermint one does help with my migraines/ headaches. I highly recommend them !

    Becomes far too flat and is not supportive. I’m a big fan of malouf pillows but this is not a good pillow. Also smells nothing like peppermint.

    This pillow is perfection to me! For reference I’m a petite woman with neck problems and I got the mid-loft plush king size and it’s amazing. So soft and squishie comfortable while still being supportive. In the past my experience has been either a soft pillow with no support or a supportive pillow with no softness (comfort). This one is very comfy, definitely like sleeping on a cloud to me. I sleep on my back, side and stomach and there are no issues at all in any position.

    1 year later I never wrote an initial review. However, I loved it then and still love it. I am mostly a side sleeper and occasionally back. I love that it has a bit of weight to it so as to not slide off the sheet. It always, always retains it’s shape, It has not failed me. I’ve long since used the peppermint oil that came with it. I bought another one and I’ve found that 6 drops works well for me.
