  1. Taller back – this one is right for me –

    I looked for a reading pillow with a taller back – this one is great. When it arrived I was skeptical because it felt lumpy, but after working with the filler material it filled out well and has been wonderful. I recommend this pillow.

  2. NO SUPPORT –

    This reading pillow is very uncomfortable.. Little to no support, it just squishes down to nothing and always seems flat. I wish I could return it. Tried to give it to my husband and he didn’t like it either.

    look someone should say – hey when you receive this item it will be the size of a small pillow and look like a small sad octopus – and it will take 3 … yes three days to fully inflate (?) memory foam…. it looks nice and it is best when propped up against a wall. Although plush – it is not super supportive.

    Perfect size, and so comfortable! The outer cover is really soft, and the gray goes with everything. The pillow did smell a bit at first due to the memory foam, but by the 2nd day it was gone.

    I purchased this piece because after having plastic eye surgery, I was supposed to sleep in an elevated position and with the foam it was easy to shape into a comfortable sleeping position for me.

    I love the color and softness of this pillow. I was impressed at the carrying case which I probably won’t use (meaning this pillow will be used daily). The pillow has a handle at the top of it to carry it around with as well. The pillow is extremely soft and the memory foam does mold itself to your body and the shape of your body. I haven’t had any issues with the smell of this product. The product smelled good as soon as I took it out of the package. My roommate loves this pillow and he wants to buy one after having sat on it. I have used this pillow on my bed to read with and on my couch to provide extra comfort. I am very impressed with this product and so is my roommate. When I first sat down with it on my bed to read with I said to myself…”Wow this is so comfortable.” I didn’t want to move or get up. It is like having a lazyboy chair wherever you sit. The pillow is high end and top of the line and you get what you pay for.

    It was cute and useful when it arrived in April. Here we are in July and the seams have burst open, spewing chunks of foam.

    The instructions refer to a zippered cover that is to be laundered before pillow is used. My pillow has no zippered cover. What to do?

  27. It was comfortable at first –

    I’ve been using this reading pillow occasionally for a few months. It was comfortable at first, however, it is now unusable as it has developed a 2-3 in hole in one of the arms and is leaking memory foam filling. It was Ok while it lasted, but I question the build quality of this pillow.

    I don’t care for this thing much at all, but I bought it for my husband and he really likes it, so the stars come from him. It arrived flattened. Although it puffed out over a couple of days, it’s still too squishy to offer much support. It’s not firm at all. However, the fabric is soft, and I guess it’s great if you’re looking for something soft and mushy. If you’re looking for something firm that holds its shape well, this will probably not suit you. When it’s hanging out on our bed with no one using it, the top has a dent where there’s no stuffing because it has sunk down inside it. I think it’s ugly and worthless and would give it two stars. My husband thinks it’s comfy and plush. To each his own, I guess.

    when first out of the package, I thought…”no way”! You have to allow it time to “poof up”. Now looks almost as full as pictured. My back likes it!

    It looks great but it’s a little “floppier” then I thought it would be…too squishy with not quite enough support. I still use it and it seems well built. Very strong chemical smell though…I’ve had to leave it in front of a fan for a few days to try to get the smell out.

  40. Plush Reading Pillow Well Worth It! –

    I LOVE this and I wish I had ordered this way before I did. I was having a surgery that would require I sit upward for several days. What? Well, I ordered this and it worked out perfectly. It’s soft, fairly pliable, very plush and has just the right amount of fill to make it to where you can rally sink into it if you want or plump it up for a more firm prolonged sitting session. The fabric quality is tops. It can be spot cleaned.

    I bought this for my daughter, a college student, for Christmas. She wanted a pillow and a lap desk so that she could work on her laptop while sitting on her bed as well as at her desk. It’s large and substantial. The memory foam is very comfortable. I am going to order another for myself. Two cautions: 1) it doesn’t look like much when it comes out of the package. It takes 24-48 hours to expand. 2) it’s heavy. I don’t plan to use the little strap on the top to carry it. I’m not sure the strap would stand up to the weight.

    So far so good. Does take a few days for the item to conform to one’s shape. Would be nice to see the pillow come out in different colors.

    Have it just one day and so far really like it. Right size, wonderful support, and is hyperalergenice with memory foam. But it comes in an odd attractive plastic tube packaging and when opened looks like a flat board. Picking it up it suddenly seems to break in half. Without the Amazon review from someone else, I probably would
    Have thought I broke it. But with the reviewers information I realized it must be a flat board of memory foam that was precut but not separated. And so I rolled it and crunched it and left it sit for a few hours and it’s perfect. But it should have gone with this information. What is does say is if it smells (mine did not) it will pass (memory foam does pass) but if you want you can take off the cover and wash it. Well that is ridiculous since you cannot remove the cover . No zipper or buttons. And there is the only Von other than the lack of information. How for you clean this if it gets dirty or something spills etc.

    Love the soft cover! I’m disabled and have been using this pillow for positioning every night while sleeping and it has kept its shape and resilience. It is firm but not hard. The only con for me is that it is heavy, but that may be a pro for someone else.

    Simply the best back pillow ever. I have chronic back and neck pain. I’ve wasted my money on other blackjacks. This one is by far the best! Memory foam throughout – no stiff foam. Large enough to support even a large framed person. First one lasted 5 years before I replaced it. It had lost some of its firmness tho my son uses it still and likes it well. But for my chronic issues I needed renewed support. This pillow has Perfect support and offers great comfort! Look no further for the best back pillow ever.

    I was disappointed with this pillow. It was a Christmas present to my husband because he liked mine so much. Mine is the same kind, sturdy and completely full, stands up nicely on its own. His never fluffed up completely and is too “mushy”. He was excited to get it but was disappointed his was so different then mine.

  61. Soft and Comfortable Reading Pillow –

    I love this pillow. I did not have any problem with it plumping up, nor did I have to disassemble it. Once I got it out of it’s vacuum sealed container-far more challenging than plumping it up-I just made sure to break up all the foam pieces by going over the pillow with my hands and breaking up any clumps and then letting it sit and expand itself for a couple of days. It will not hold you up on it’s own, but I haven’t ever found one of these that was actually designed to do that. But using it between my bed headboard and me, it provides a very comfortable and soft propping surface while sitting up in bed and reading or working on the computer.

    Just got this today! It came condensed of course in the box but I read the other reviews and let it sit out on my bed while I ran errands. When I came back it was perfectly plump! It’s so comfy and exactly what I needed for late night studying before bed. It did have a bit of a smell to it but I just sprayed fabric with a fabric refresher. Thank you!

    I bought this as a gift and my the recipient reports that it is very comfortable. It takes a bit of “punching” to fluff it up out of the box, but it is very comfortable and reacts to body temperature.

My hands got a little tired getting it fluffed up properly and making sure there were no clumps, but it was worth the effort! Supportive without being stiff, the material is Tempur Pedic type so it molds to my back when I’m using it, and springs into place again. I love the extra high back, and the arms are substantial enough to give support when using my laptop, even on a lap desk. The cover material is very soft and luxurious-feeling, and looks great. Only criticism is that it does give off a chemical-y smell at first, but it faded quickly. It’s pricey, but worth every penny. I would absolutely buy this again. Would make a great gift.

    super comfy and i really enjoy the height on the back.
    smelled kinda weird when i first got it, that smell didn’t last very long though.
    i had to kind of break apart the foam on the inside, i took the lazy way out and threw it in the dryer no heat. seemed to get the job done.

    I ended up having to return this product. This pillow definitely does not expand in the way it is shown in the pictures. I bought this to prop me up after surgery and there’s no way it would have lived up to the task. It was very floppy and loose. It didn’t come with any directions, but I took it out of the package and left it alone for a week. It simply does not expand all the way, even with fluffing.

  77. Made Me Nervous at First But Exceeded My Expectations! –

    Wow, I was a little nervous when I saw how small this was compressed and when I opened it and fluffed it I was still nervous because I seemed so loose and not supportive but I left it, went to work a midnight shift and when I came in the morning it was perfect!! The fabric is very nice, color is as it shows in the small close up picture, the full size view pictures make it look lighter but I think that’s from the lighting – it’s a nice dark charcoal color. I agree with some other reviews, there was a slight chemical smell at first but that faded in a couple days and I expected it. I am very happy with this purchase, it exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it!

    The cover is of high quality and after fluffing it up a bit, the memory foam material conforms comfortably to your body. It worked great for sitting up in my bed and provided good back support.
    My girlfriend is in varsity and it has been great for her to use while studying and working on the computer. Both of us really enjoyed the armrests as well. They provide extra support and help the pillow conform to your body.

  80. It stinks –

    This item has a chemical smell you might expect of foam, but after a few days, the odor doesn’t seem to be going away. Additionally, the case cannot be removed or cleaned, so there’s no way to expedite the smell dissipation process. Being in a small apartment, I don’t have many options. I wish I just went to a bed and bath store and purchased one of these for half the price.
    Edit: 3 weeks later, the pillow still smells. I have to wrap it with a spare bed sheet in order to mask the smell. It is fairly comfortable and I was glad customer support followed up. I am bumping it up to two stars because it is just too much hassle for a pillow.

    I have now purchased two of these reading pillows in the past 3 years. I am quite tall and sitting up in bed doing work on my laptop or watching tv with my wife would become uncomfortable with just a normal pillow on my back. I decided to try a reading pillow but knew I would need something large. This foam filled reading pillow did the trick. It’s big, comfortable and provides decent support. It’s not super firm but it does provide support. I’m happy enough with this pillow that after my first one started getting some loose threads and opening up after a few years I bought a second one.

    Came fast but was very concerned after unboxing due to how flat the pillow was once it came. Due to its foam it needed time to fill the space and its perfect and super soft.

    I call it the teddy bear without a head, great for a good read by the garden, paging through a magazine infront of the tv, even laying on the bed catching up on some social media content. A must have accessory, you wont go wrong
